I got World Adventures last week and I have been really, seriously loving it. No issues at all & I think it's super fun.

Last time:

The second generation kids finished up college and brought their sweeties into the legacy house. Belle married the fabulously be-booted Fox who knocked her up with a baby girl, Yuffie, almost immediately, she was born on the beach. Stitch and his wife, Sara had a girl too, minutes later, still on the sands where they had watched Yuffie come into the world, by moonlight, and named her Lilo. It was so romantic they all ran upstairs and got pregnant again. In freaking unison.

Last time! Kate & Hal got married and Kate gave birth to 4 more of his children, the 3 she needed towards her lifetime wish, and one to spare! When we left off, Sylvia, the eldest, had gotten a job at the mausoleum, Harvard aged all the way from toddler to teenager, Winston was born and raised to teenager, Gregory was born and raised to child, and the twins, Dharma and Opal were born-ed and todd-led. Kate also became a full grown adult shortly before the birth of her last children. It was hectic.

Last time! Elizabeth came home from college, where she had met one potential breedworthy beau, and immediately met another while shopping for clothes. Fortuitous! They're both romantically inclined so there are no sore feelings. Elizabeth got pregnant with her college beau and has invited him over to see the birth!

It's been over a month since I have played and even longer since I have updated. I got, understandably, distracted by The Sims 3. I have material for two updates and working on the photos has gotten me in the mood to play.

Overwhelming!
I went on vacation a few weeks ago. It was awesome. Shortly after we got back, jesstheex & her husband came and I was further (& awesomely!) distracted.
So everything in this update was played over two weeks ago. I feel rusty and confused.

This is a legacy, but I'm not terribly keen on the official rules. I'm not cheating at all and I'm trying to reach 10 generations, I think that's challenge enough.

Last time, Kate got a job in the law enforcement track where she met her partner, Hal Breckinridge. He seemed like a bit of a horndog, but she's a hopeless romantic and she thinks she can change him, plus she wasn't getting any younger and she wants to have five children, so she abstained from the birth controls even though they're not even going steady (shock!) and had a girl, Sylvia, who was quickly followed by a son, Harvard. Sylvia is a child now, just started elementary school, and, as goes hand in hand with artistic genius, something of a loner. Harvard is a light sleeper and hates the outdoors. Kate is expecting her third child.

One of the first things I did with The Sims 3 was makes sims of my husband and myself. I wanted to see how customizable the faces and clothes were and I figured working with real people would be a good test. I'm pretty happy with the results of our faces (I probably could have spent more time on it, but it got to a certain point where I just wanted to play, gosh darn it!) and ridiculously happy with the clothes. We totally own what I dressed the us!sims in. It's uncanny.


Well... except for this... Shaun's lifetime wish was to reach level 9 of the science career track. After that he hit level 10 pretty quickly and then he was running around dressed like this.

There aren't a lot of pictures of my Shaun sim because he was so busy with his job. Rachel's lifetime wish was to be an Illustrious Author and I had her stay at home so I got more pictures of her.

I made a sim named Lola Whoa last night and played her for a bit, she's essentially homeless, Insane, Inappropriate, Childish, Green Thumb & Charismatic.
Her favorites are Peanut Butter & Jelly, Kids Music & the color Yellow. Her lifetime wish is to have 20 friends.

It's Rachel Depraved, my long lost sim twin!
I'm testing uploading the in game shots on to different sites. They cap as .jpg, which is annoying and I wish I could cap as .png. My screencap program (and by all accounts, most screencap programs) take super dark pictures. The downside is that I miss out on the user interface, which is occasionally nice/good for keeping track of traits and wants and stuff. Those things cap well enough to be readable with wingrab, though, so I can still use it for record keeping. The upside is that the ingame camera is actually really good. I converted this to .png before uploading and that seems to have helped the jpeg artifacts in comparison with a .jpg version I uploaded somewhere else.

Please excuse me while I sims!geek out. ;P

Wingrab/other cap programs cap fine if you're playing in windowed mode, but there's something about windowed mode I don't like. The UI seems too sharp or something... I also don't like the fact that I can so easily get distracted by the internet in windowed mode. The temptation to multi-task is strong in me.

(To enable windowed mode, unclick the "enable full screen mode" option under Graphics in Options)

Travers had two children by alien abduction, Lavinia, who is now a child, and Elizabeth, a toddler. While he was carrying Elizabeth in his... um... womb? he married his first kiss, Aeva, the infallibly good witch. She was delighted to have the chance at motherhood which she missed out on, having been born an elder. While Travers devoted himself to keeping the family alive and out of trouble, Aeva spent a disturbing amount of time with her teenage brother-in-law, Chatham.
When last we left off, Elizabeth, watched with a delighted grin on her face as her Uncle Chatham crumpled on the floor, succumbing to food poisoning. Luckily his brother, Travers, challenged and beat death.

Yes!

Last time: Wingrab devoured Travers college career, he got his first kiss from an old witch named Aeva & came home from college. After a quick survey of the local ladies, he decided to have babies on his own. Or, with a little probing from the aliens. Whee! We left off and he was in labor. It was dramatic and you all chastised me for my propensity for cliffhangers. I'm sorry! It's just a really convenient stopping point, okay?

I know! An update two days in a row.
I just realized that this short awkwardness probably should have been attached to the last update,
but it's really short & awkward because my screencap program had a limit of 100 caps a day set
and when I hit 100 it started saving over the first caps of the day again,
so I lost Travers ENTIRE college career. It sucks.
I changed the limit to 500,
if I ever take 500 caps in a day it means I need professional help & I deserve to lose the caps.

So I wanted to write what happened & throw you into his post-senior Graduate wrapping up semester while I still remember stuff.

I've had the caps for this ready for a long time, but I've been so overwhelmed by life that I hadn't written the entry up. I also haven't played in a really long time (over a month). This update is kind of short, but I have to get one in this week to stay in the challenge.



Last time: Eclipse graduated from her roach infested college career. In the dorm she had met the lovely Eman Wow, and asked her to marry her.
